Despacho for the People

Despacho describes the Andean ceremonial practice of making offerings to the mountains (apus), Mother Earth (Pachamama), and other spirits of nature in reciprocity, reverence, and thanksgiving. A despacho is an act of love and a reminder of the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits, and sacred places. I've been making these as a way to grieve all that is happening in the world and celebrate the ways we can continue to show up for each other. As a displaced Indigenous person, I feel the pain of the people of Gaza being killed and dispossessed. I asked my ancestors for the liberation of Palestine and they answered Viva Viva Palestina!
